In no other country in the world do more people work in tea cultivation than here. Tea production is one of the largest economic sectors in the country. Alveus also sources large quantities of the valuable Ceylon from Sri Lanka and that is why we would like to give something back to the country.
In 2002, the voluntary organization “Stiftung Hellabeem” was founded by the Dutch emigrants Helene Heijen and Jan van Beek. Hellabeem is an internal training and rehabilitation center for young people with physical disabilities and social disadvantages. The organization focuses on this particularly disadvantaged group. Through physiotherapy, learning a profession and social support in a family environment, young people have the chance to live independently later on. With the support of our volunteers and donors, these young people can look forward to a secure and independent future.
With every purchase of the “Soul of Sri Lanka” charity tea, Alveus automatically donates
€1 per 100g to the Hellabeem project.
